BitTorrent DDoS
BitTorrent servers under attack
Seems BitTorrent servers around the world are getting DDoS’d a lot recently. I wonder who could be behind that… who would have the motive and the resources to pull something like that off? Hmm, could it be… SATAN!
All parodies aside, does curbing illegal activity by using another really make any sense at all? By DDoS you have just committed a crime, a crime not unlike the crime you are accusing BitTorrent users of committing. Isn’t that kind of like cutting a bunch of people’s arms off so they can’t use a gun and possibly commit a crime? That may not be the best analogy, but you get what I mean; and give me a break, it’s 4:30am.
Try as you might, the servers will come back up and workarounds will be found. I challenge thee!

Hmm - you just challenged SATAN to a duel, and all of a sudden, your site is a few hundred milliseconds slower. Coincidence??

Wow, the timeliness of this story is uncanny. I have noticed issues accessing several key Torrent portals for probably close to three weeks. I’m not mentioning names because although any idiot could find the information for themselves, I am confident that more elite aaplications such as BitTorrent and Mirc will always appeal less to inexperienced users; those which attract the attention of the RIAA with their intrinsicly ironic mass user bases which are directly relational to the fact that in real life or online, there are only a few leaders and the rest of all you people are followers; yes, SHEEP!
I predicted probably over ten years ago; or even theoretically suggested that the only way that companies would be able to truly combat file sharing and such would be to resort to nefarious and illegal activities; employing the use of top-secret accomplises offshore with high bandwidth connections or other means to “fight fire with fire.” Alas, just as Napster was too limited by intelligence or insight to have made an initial deal with the Retail industries, which would have then allowed all of you SHEEP out there to think that there wasn’t anything else available, but no other option than to just install the latest update to the program which would take over your online music habbits; unbeknownst to you that better options might exist or be created.
The entire combatitive handling of both Napster and the Record Industry ironically screwed them both. Sean Fanning could have made millions by being tactful and firing that stupid uncle of his that for God only knows what reason was under the false impression that he was some kind of ultimate businessman; idiot would be more appropriate -perhaps fool.
I think it’s all really humorous because you will never stop people from doing this stuff. I’m not going to say that I am innocent or that I am either for or against illegal file sharing, but attempting to take away peoples freedoms will always bite you in the (behind); especially when those people just might know a little more than you do when it comes to technology, trends or whatever; perhaps just common sense and intuition.
Anyways, I will go off forever if I don’t stop now, so peace!
