Whirlwind of Activity

The last few days have just been crazy. Wednesday morning at 9:45 am I went into lab to start working on our final paper. Besides a break for lunch and one dinner at a bar we worked in lab until around 2am. Printing our report and poster became an adventure as we went to Kinko’s with Darrin’s laptop, but forgot the dongle to allow him to connect to the network there. We ended up driving around the Ave looking for free wireless from the car, hoping we could move our files somewhere online. Having no luck we drove all the way back to Mary Gates and were able to get wireless from the loading dock out back.

By the time we finally got our stuff printed out it was nearing 5am! We still hadn’t gone over our presentation yet, so off we went to Starbucks for some much needed coffee and bagels. It was funny to see both Kat and Darrin so tired, I don’t think I’ve ever seen them so out of it before.

Finally getting home around 7am, I had just enough time to get everything ready for our presentation demo and shower before leaving for class. I thought our presentation went surprisingly well given the circumstances. Kudos to my team for pulling through the long night and being able to present our project. The next four hours of class were pretty brutal, I think all of us drifted off to sleep at one point or another.

After class Kat and I went to Koreana for lunch and a few games of chess. I was surprised at how alert she was given we hadn’t slept in over 24 hours. We headed back to MGH so I could buy an IUGA shot glass and she could go to her class. I finally headed home and slept the rest of the day away.

Friday was spent cleaning the bathroom, running various errands, and napping… mmm napping… Well that is until Rufino called my sleeping ass like 4 times within one hour. I crammed into Kat’s car with Rufino, Suzan, and DT and we all headed out to Dan’s OMGWTFBBQ event.

What can I say… when you arrive a little late, everyone is already filthy drunk when you get there. It was great to see everyone make it out there, even CA was there! There was some awesome food and plenty of drinks for everyone. I only hope this doesn’t end up being the last big party for us all.

Around midnight or so we all piled back into Kat’s car and this time CA came with us. Before dropping him off at the ferry terminal we went for Wontons at the usual place in Chinatown. This is where we parted ways with CA and headed back to the U-district. The night was finally coming to an end and it was kinda sad to have it be over. I probably would have been more nostalgic had I not had the worst headache I’ve ever had. Fast forward 20mins, three Tylenols and a glass of water later… out cold till morning.

Yeah, I prefer to think that Friday wasn’t the last time… but, if I keep thinking like that it will only be more reason to have another gathering in the future.

Yeah I know what you mean about the nostalgia thing, kept thinking, “This the last time that..” but couldn’t dwell on it really given how tired I and out of it I’ve been, heheh.

I love it when multiple people blog about the same event–multi-perspective and all :).

Jamie: good call on the multi-perspective blogging. It’s great to read everyone’s thoughts on what happened and see all the various photos.
