About this site

Created with Wordpress and managed with Subversion, this site is where I write the things that pops into my head. Topics range from technology, web design, and usability to current events and movie reviews.

Who is Kevin Pittman?

Hey, you’re the visitor here… shouldn’t you be telling me who you are? Okay, maybe not. Maybe you’re just shy so I’ll go first.

As an interaction designer for Catalyst at the University of Washington my job is to design web applications for the UW community. My daily activities consist mostly of drawing boxes & arrows, sketching interfaces, and working closely with a team of talented developers and designers. I also play a large role in the HTML and CSS production for our web applications.

When I’m not at work I try to stay busy with various projects (you’re reading one of them) and hobbies. On the web I frequent flickr more than my email and enjoy reading anything written by friends. I also read an unhealthy number of blogs about design, web standards, and typography.

Offline I enjoy biking, hanging with friends, coffee (I live in Seattle, what can I say?) and photography.
