I don’t really have much to say about this other than it is one of the most tragic events I have ever heard of. My heart goes out to those who have lost loved ones and everyone involved.
BitTorrent servers under attack
Seems BitTorrent servers around the world are getting DDoS’d a lot recently. I wonder who could be behind that… who would have the motive and the resources to pull something like that off? Hmm, could it be… SATAN!

This is just too good to pass up. Ashlee Simpson’s “performance” on Saturday Night Live last night brought comedy to a whole new level; in fact it couldn’t have been funny if it was planned, and in some respects I feel it was.

Holy crap, this is just about the craziest thing I have ever seen. I suppose the idea isn’t all that nuts, but just look at those pictures, it looks like something out of the Matrix. Interesting stuff.
An interesting story that is as sad as it is funny.
Apparently the athletes competing in the Olympics are barred from blogging. The International Olympic Committee has barred basically anyone directly involved in the olympics from blogging about their experiences until the games end August 29th. On top of not being allowed to blog about their experiences during the games, those involved are also not allowed to post video or images they have taken even after the games are over (unless given permission ahead of time). It seems the IOC believes that the “the interests of broadcast rightsholders and accredited media come first.”

So CNN has a story that is quite possibly one of the most disturbing news items I have ever read.
I’ll let you read the article for yourself, but I have wonder: if that is the punishment of a relative grabbing some ass then I’d hate to see what they do to adulterers.
The New York Times has an interesting article about New York’s plan to allow telecommunications companies to put cellphone antennas and internet transmitters ontop of traffic signals, signs, and lampposts. Not only will this generate about $21.3 million for the city, but it will also improve cell phone reception and create many internet hotspots throughout the city. So far, the plan is to lease about 18,000 spots for the devices.
