Again my RSS comments were broken for the past few days. After realizing that many of my friends were having this same issue I finally grew tired of it and looked for the root of the problem along with a solution. What I learned was that special characters in comment titles were rendering my xml feeds invalid. For some reason the content of the comments is surrounded in <![CDATA[ stuff ]]> but the title isn’t. The simple fix I found was to just wrap the title contents in <![CDATA[ stuff ]]>.

Upgraded to WordPress 1.5

As you can see I’ve completely redesigned by blog. I’ve finally moved all of the content off of the UW’s servers and will shut down everything over there after a few weeks. I’ve also decided to stop using WordPress as a CMS for links and other pages. WordPress is great for blogging, but I found it somewhat clunky at managing everything.

As for the actual design, I’m pretty happy with it. I think it looks a lot cleaner than the old design and the process went much smoother than last time. Feel free to leave suggestions as comments. Let me know if you find any funky rendering bugs too. Thanks guys!

So I thought a cool idea would be to have weekly music reviews. Just a small weekly thing I could put together highlighting some of the stuff I’ve been listening to recently. After writing the first one, I realized it might be kind of boring if I just recommend a bunch of stuff and then no one could ever find it. To solve this I’ve put together some samples. These will be posted along with the reviews and left up until the next weeks review is posted.

Just to be safe, the files have been password protected. To gain access you’ll have to message me or contact me in some way about it. The password will always stay the same for convenience sake.

I’ve finally finished my website. I’d say it has been about a month of on and off again work. Besides a few minor quibbles I am happy with how it turned out. As you can see, the other pages aren’t quite finished yet content wise… don’t worry I’ll get there eventually.
