For those of out there who have never heard of Matisyahu, I highly recommend him. I just finished listening to Live At Stubbs and all I have to say is that it is amazing. Think uplifting, soulful, and thoughtful reggae and you’ll be halfway there. Not only is he a talented reggae artist, he’s a Hasidic Jew with some serious vocals and beat-boxing skills… yeah… beat-boxing skills. Make sure to check out tracks 5 (King Without a Crown) and 7 (Beat Box).

Denon 3805 remote
Talk about a brilliant way to organize what would be 19884 buttons. With this thing I can control the TV, DVD player, and receiver… now if only it could start the coffee maker.

Clear your schedules for Thursday (10/13) and Saturday (10/15).
Thursday night presents an awesome line-up with NO COVER at the Last Supper Club. Bad Boy Bill and Steve Smooth will both be playing, along with some local DJs (including a favorite of mine, DJ Flave). If you’re in the mood for something funky, this is the place to be.
Saturday night is DJ Flave and G-Cue at Finn McCools. Never heard of G-Cue, but it’s free cover so how can you go wrong?
Any takers?

The drive to The Gorge started at 2pm, but the excitement started much earlier. I had seen the Dave Matthews Band play a few times before (twice at Portland Meadows and once at The Gorge) but it had been at least 4 years since the last concert. Two days prior to the concert Ryan and I had planned out a timeline for driving and stops for food. We figured we wanted to get there around 5:30.

I stumbled upon this in the Seattle Flickr group and thought I’d share. Pretty creative use of the flickr notes feature if you ask me.

Selling my TV and the wood furniture that holds it. Thought I’d see if any friends were interested before I put it up on craigslist.

The TV is a Sony 24″ (KV-24FS120). Picture is still great and there’s nothing wrong with it as far as I know. I’m thinking something like $175 for the TV, $40 for the stand or $200 for both.
Email me if you are interested.

Soon there will be a brainstorm meeting at work to come up with ideas for a project that is based around the needs of UW students. There has been a lot of talk about collaborative software and other various group work tools, but we’re looking for more suggestions.
Some general ideas that come to mind are:
- collaborative writing
- homepage portal building tool (sorta like bloglines but customized to class info, eposts, etc…)
- project management software
- Notes/files/document sharing
Any other ideas (big or small) that you can think of? What technology/tools do you wish the school offered that would make your life easier?

Police seize Viagra-fueled horses
We are able to ascertain the use of the famous [drug] Viagra to increase the performance of these horses.
I just want to know two things.
- What type of performance are we talking about here?
- Where did the police seize these horses?

It’s finally happening… ATB is coming to Seattle. Mark your calendars for Friday May 27th because you’ll be coming with me and Ash to the Last Supper Club.
Although I’ve never seen him live before I’ve been listening to ATB since I bought Movin’ Melodies back in 1999. I clearly remember the first time I heard the CD in my friend’s dorm room. I had just started listening to electronic music and he was letting me listen to some new stuff of his. ATB has a pretty unique sound and I guess that struck me because I went out and bought the CD within the next few days. Needless to say, I’m pretty excited he is coming to Seattle.
Since Movin’ Melodies, ATB has released quite a few CDs. Most of his music is pretty clubby, but it’s always got a good bouncy bassline and is pretty melodic. Interested? Check out his website for videos, discography, etc…
Ash and I already got tickets, $15 each at any ticketswest locations (there’s one in the U-Village QFC). Tickets are $20 at the door, but if you are really interested in seeing him I’d suggest the pre-sale option. It’s a three day weekend, so why not right?

While walking around Nordstrom with Ash I came upon the sign shown above. Nothing too exciting in and of itself. But something about the placement of the shoes made me read it as “we loves hoes”. I’m on to you Nordstroms…
