As some of you may know, I have been looking to buy a new car for a while. For the past 10 weeks I have been going to dealerships, scouring the internet and local papers, and test driving tons of cars. It’s been exhausting and frustrating.
I wanted a small car, something nimble and quick. After driving my Nissan 240sx for the past few years anything bigger than a Civic feels like I’m driving a bus. I started out really looking for VW GTIs; the size is perfect and I love the hatchback’s shape. I actually like the shape of the Corrado’s better, but they stopped making them a while back, which would mean an older car.

Again my RSS comments were broken for the past few days. After realizing that many of my friends were having this same issue I finally grew tired of it and looked for the root of the problem along with a solution. What I learned was that special characters in comment titles were rendering my xml feeds invalid. For some reason the content of the comments is surrounded in <![CDATA[ stuff ]]> but the title isn’t. The simple fix I found was to just wrap the title contents in <![CDATA[ stuff ]]>.

As you have no doubt already read from everyone’s various blogs, I went on a short vacation to Cannon Beach, Oregon this last weekend. Yeah, I know it’s already Thursday and I got back on Monday… so I extended my vacation a little… wanna fight about it?
This type of trip was actually a first for me. I’ve never been on vacation with so many friends. In the past it has mostly been vacations with family and relatives, and more recently with Ash and one or two friends. Let’s just say that hoteling it with 11 of your closest iFriends certainly had its ups and downs.

I’ve decided to start posting random photos, mostly from my cell phone, that I find amusing. Whether or not you find them humorous is up to you.

Yeah, it’s ridiculous. I figure with all the sushi I’ve been eating lately, this is the logical next purchase. My favorite part is the expression on that guy’s face. He’s possibly the whitest guy I’ve ever seen… ever…

The last few days have just been crazy. Wednesday morning at 9:45 am I went into lab to start working on our final paper. Besides a break for lunch and one dinner at a bar we worked in lab until around 2am. Printing our report and poster became an adventure as we went to Kinko’s with Darrin’s laptop, but forgot the dongle to allow him to connect to the network there. We ended up driving around the Ave looking for free wireless from the car, hoping we could move our files somewhere online. Having no luck we drove all the way back to Mary Gates and were able to get wireless from the loading dock out back.

After a four month hiatus, the power couple is back and more powerful than ever before. No longer am I the single man I once was.
How appropriate that this festive news comes just in time for Valentine’s Day. Of course my impeccable timing now requires me to purchase a last minute Valentine’s Day gift… a small price to pay for this second chapter in our relationship.

As some of you may know, I’m currently in the middle of the implementation phase for my capstone. One of the many challenges we have been facing is how to divide up the work and organize our efforts so that each person is doing something productive and not being held up by others.

This entry is being written per Jamie’s request.
So come the end of Thursday night at Jillian’s I thought I had convinced a sizeable group of people to go to the Last Supper Club with me. I was happy with Thursday’s festivities and looked forward to going out Friday night. Friday roles around and David’s the first to go; apparently he lost his voice or some such bullshit Thursday night. My friend who was also going to go decides he’s too lazy to drive down to my place… 2 down. Then Kat tells me she has some other crap to do (that’s three). Sooo, basically it was down to me and Jamie… and Jamie was somewhat on the fence after hearing about all of our lame friends.
